Travel Addicts Assemble!

I can't tell you how excited I am to be finally doing this! The Travel Addicts community was an idea that came to me after I'd spent a year backpacking all over Australia, returned home and felt like there were very few people who could truly relate to that "post-life-changing-adventure" feeling.

Of course it was great to be home, catch up with friends and spend time with family, but honestly I just couldn't shake this dull thud in the pit of my stomach. It was like it was telling me that travel wasn't just something I "liked to do" it was somehow connected to the very core of my being. And I needed more!

It's funny now when I look back because the whole reason I'd ended up on this trip in the first place was because I wanted to get travel out of my system (let's all laugh together) I somehow believed that a year of travel would wipe my desire to travel and I'd be able to settle down and get on with 'real life.

Only...travelling IS real life to me.

And it turned out that on my trip I met a LOT of people who felt exactly the same. I reached out to them and we ended up building strong connections and relationships based on our mutual desire to explore as much of the planet as possible. I created a small Facebook group so that we could have a safe space to dump all of our travel photos and share exciting new places on our bucket list without having our friends roll their eyes at us.

Soon, those friends invited their friends, and they invited their friends and we grew the community to over 5000 people!

We've geeked out and done online quizzes together, met up with other Travel Addicts abroad and locally, massively expanded our bucket lists and shared our adventures and recommendations with each other.

And now that travel is back on the horizon, I wanted to take that to the next level - so here we are! The Travel Addicts Blog!

This is a chance for our members to open up and share their stories about their travels, tell us their travel secrets and inspire us to share experience even more of the world.
