How to Prepare for Your travel addicts adventure!

OMGGGGGGGG - If you're reading this, it means you’ve taken the plunge, booked your spot, and you’re officially IN for an epic Travel Addicts Adventure with us. Whichever destination we'll be exploring together, this trip will be all about making unforgettable memories, sharing laughs, and exploring an epic destination together.

But before we get to that, let’s dive into everything you need to know to make your trip with The Travel Addicts as smooth and as special as possible!

Our Signature Travel Addicts Trip Highlights

Make sure you grab your bikini because a Travel Addict Pool Party is a huge part of all of our trips and will be a fun way to drink in the sunshine and hang out with your new travel besties.

We always wrap up our trips with a Sunset-Themed Party, where we’ll dress in dreamy sunset colors, gather at a breathtaking spot, and toast to an incredible adventure as the sun goes down. So come hungry, come ready to party, and come ready to make some incredible memories! So pack your favourite orange, pink or yellow outfits!

Accommodation & Room Sharing

So here’s the scoop on your soon-to-be home away from home! We usually stay in multiple locations across the trip to give us an easy departure-point from activities in each region. Moving to different hotels ultimately means less time sat in the van and more time to enjoy new places.

We’ll be set up with double occupancy rooms - meaning you’ll have a roomie unless you’ve opted for a private room upgrade. I’ll always aim to have two beds in each room, but depending on where we’re staying (small local inns, charming old-world hotels, unique boutique villas) we may end up with a shared bed or a roll-out bed in a couple of places - I'll try my best to make it as fair and as fun as possible by pairing you with your 'perfect match' roomie if you're not bringing a friend.

Want your own space? Just let me know, and we’ll get you sorted with an upgrade. A little privacy can be a nice treat after a day of exploring with the group!

Food (and Lots of It!)

We kick off every trip with a Welcome Dinner and wrap it up with a fabulous Farewell Dinner, both included in your package! These are perfect times for us to get together, try local dishes, and just soak in the travel vibes with the whole crew.

The rest of the time, food is all yours to decide. Your daily budget for meals is totally up to you—whether you’re a street food adventurer or a fancy restaurant enthusiast. I’m always happy to give recommendations depending on our location, and I know a lot of hidden gems you’re going to love! There are a few signature inclusions in every Travel Addicts trip to make it super special.

*If you're a picky-eater, be sure to let me know and I'll point you in the direction on Western-style food, if you're open to trying new dishes, you're in the right place! (I tend to attract foodies!)

Being on Time (Punctuality Makes the Magic Happen)

Trust me, I’m all about living in the moment, but punctuality goes a long way on a group trip. We’ll have activities, tours, and sometimes early morning starts, so please be on time. If we all stick to the schedule, we can see and do more, plus it keeps the group energy up! 🕒

Pro Tip: Set alarms, reminders, whatever it takes to keep you on track. If you’re running a little late, no worries just text me in the group, and we’ll work it out.

Packing List Essentials

Packing like a Travel Addict pro means being prepared without overstuffing your suitcase. Here’s what you’ll want to bring:

  • Weather-Ready Clothes: Layers, comfy shoes for all that exploring, and a jacket or two for unexpected chills.

  • Toiletries & Medications: Basics like toothpaste, sunscreen, and anything you need for daily comfort.

  • Day Bag: Small backpack for daily outings.

  • Adapters & Tech: Power adapter (especially if we’re in a different plug zone), charger, and a portable battery for when you need a quick phone boost.

  • Swimwear & Beach Bits (if we’re headed somewhere warm): Don’t miss out on a dip just because you forgot a bikini!

Group Vibes & Making the Most of the Experience

One of the best parts of a Travel Addicts trip? The people you’ll be sharing it with! Each trip is filled with fellow travel lovers, so come ready to make new friends, share stories, and be part of a positive, fun-loving vibe. Whether you’re introverted, extroverted, or somewhere in between, there’s a place for you in this group!

  • Kindness and Respect: We’ll all be sharing spaces, meals, and some incredible experiences, so be mindful of each others needs and boundaries. We’re here to have a blast, and that means creating a positive, respectful vibe for everyone. Kindness and consideration are key - so let’s keep things friendly, be mindful of each other, and focus on fun.

  • Zero tolerance for drama: Any rude or negative behavior will be addressed, as this trip is about inclusivity and respect. We’re all here to make amazing memories, so let’s keep the energy positive.

  • Talk to me! If anything’s bothering you or if there’s an issue, I’m here to help! Let’s work together to make this the incredible adventure we all signed up for.

Arrival & Departure Recommendations

I’ll be in touch about specific arrival and departure times for your destination. I suggest planning to arrive at least a day early to settle into a new timezone (I can let you know the accommodation where any other Travel Addicts are planning to stay if you want to get connected beforehand) Also, leave a little buffer at the end so that you're not rushing for flights.

Airport Tips:

  • Arriving: I’ll let you know the exact meeting spot, so keep an eye on your email for those details!

  • Leaving: Book your flight home with some wiggle room in case of delays. You might also want to spend one last morning soaking in the destination or a few days for your own solo trip.

Health, Safety & Medical Tips

Safety and health are top priorities on any trip, so be as prepared as you can be! Before we leave, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Bring Basic Medication: Painkillers, motion sickness tablets, and any prescriptions. A small travel first aid kit never hurts.

  • Hydration & Rest: Between flights and long days, staying hydrated and getting good sleep makes a huge difference. I suggest a large reusable bottle that you can carry around with you for activities.

  • Safety Guidelines: Be sure to give someone who you trust back home access to your flight details, insurance policies and the trip itinerary. I’ll brief everyone on any safety tips specific to our destination. Just stick with the group, be aware of your surroundings, and you’re good!

Communication: Pre-Trip Meetup & Group Chat 💬

One month before we take off, we’ll have a virtual meet-up! It’s a chance to meet the other amazing girls on the trip, get to know each other a bit, and ask any questions you might have for me. This is where we’ll cover the basics and set the tone for our adventure together!

While we’re on the trip, we’ll also have a group chat to keep us connected. It’ll be our go-to for sharing updates, meeting spots, and spontaneous plans, so everyone stays in the loop and no one misses a thing!
